Glen Hansard and Markéta Irglová were up for Best Original Song last night and they won! For those that haven't seen the movie Once, go rent it. It's not your typical American "tie-up-all-the-loose-ends-for-a-happy-ending" type of movie...it's a beautiful story of music, relationships, tough choices and consequences that was filmed in 17 days in Dublin...Glen Hansard is the lead singer and guitarist of the Irish band The Frames and Markéta Irglová is a collaborator of his and the song that won, "Falling Slowly" is gorgeous...Markéta and Glen actually fell in love as a result of filming the movie...anyway. I like to root for the underdog and Once definitely was an underdog. As a musician, I cheered as this song was powerful, well written and beautifully performed.

Baseball...
WTF??!?! As a lifelong baseball fan, morbid curiosity has me tuned in to watch the McNamee/Clemens hearing before Congress today...I have to say, this is just about as disheartening and sickening as the strike in the mid-90's. Will the game of my youth ever regain it's good name? I don't think so...

The Mighty Led Zeppelin has returned
Oh. My. Gosh.
I don't even have the words to describe what I've listened to and watched on YouTube...I was not fortunate enough to get the call to have a chance to purchase a ticket (20,000,000 applied to get 18,000 tickets!) but I guarantee, if they tour, I will auction a kidney or something else I don't need in order to see them live!
